Amish Pizza Recipes For Jam Filled Cookies and Cookies
Anyone who has children knows how important it is to have a supply of cookies in hand. Perfect sandwich with milk, can be used as dessert, are easy to handle in field days, be easily and lunchboxes, and perfect to take on the road toward the door. These cookies have a base Pizza Amish peanut butter cookie and pizza baked in a pan. Children love to make and eat. I like to do the role of them, throwing trays of pizza and take them to church meals, snacks, meetings, etc. They disappear quickly and you just throw the bread!
Amish PIZZA COOKIES
1 / 2 cup granulated sugar
1 / 3 cup brown sugar
Butter 1 / 2 stick
1 egg
1 / 2 cup butter peanut
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1 / 2 cups flour
Topping:
1 cup chocolate chips
2 cups miniature marshmallows
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter together. Add the egg and mix well. Mix peanut butter and vanilla. Add the flour and mix well. Press or roll dough into a 15-inch pizza pan, all the way to the edge of the pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle the chips and marshmallows on top. Return to oven for 5 to 8 minutes until melting starts beating. Cut when completely cooled.
JAM-FILLED COOKIES
2 cups all-purpose flour
Bake 1 / 4 teaspoon
Salt 1 / 4 teaspoon
Butter 1 / 2 cup
3 / 4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 / 4 cup each seedless raspberry jam and strawberry jam
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Whisk flour mixture into sugar mixture. Divide dough in half, each in the form of a disc, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray for cooking.
Roll 1 dough disk into flour wax paper to 1/4-inch thickness. Using a cutter round cookie or biscuit, cut the cookies. In half of the cookies, cut a 3/4-inch hole in the center. Repeat with the second disk of dough. Reroll scraps for additional cookies. Place the cookies on the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned around the edges. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
After the cookies are cooled, spread a 1 low / 2 teaspoon raspberry jam on half of the solid cookies. Repeat with the other half of the solid cookies by the use of strawberry preserves. Dust cookies with the hole in the center lightly with powdered sugar and place on top of the jam and preserved sandwich cookies style. Makes 3 to 3 1 / 2 dozen cookies.
Enjoy!

ReviewsGreat stone - works perfectly! by Steve B from on 2010-07-19 Made several pizzas so far and no problems. They come out crispy and perfect all the way through.
A bit pricey, but worth it by geetee from on 2010-04-18 I didn't knock the star rating for the price because it seems all baking stones are overpriced. You could pick up some cheap tiles from Home Depot, but I rather feel comfortable buying something I know is food safe. I've read horror stories of pizza stones breaking after a few uses, but this has held up and is going strong. The peel is the perfect size for a home kitchen. Short enough to easily store but big enough to make transferring pizzas for two a cinch. A bit rough on the edges, but I'll accept that considering it was practically tossed in for free.
Great Crispy Crusted pizza! by Vicki L. Vohs from Milton Wi on 2010-03-03 I love this stone and pizza reel. Ordered them because of baking artesian bread. The pizza I made was the best ever! Ease in sliding the dough off the board onto the stone. Don't hesitate! wonderful product.
stone broke in mail by Angie RN from omaha NE on 2009-07-03 the stone broke in shipping and we got the board wet and it warped terribly. It might have been fine otherwise.
Great! by Nurse Mary from Grafton, WI on 2009-02-16 This was a great purchase and I get a lot of use out of it. Makes wonderful homemade pizza if your oven heats up high enough!!

ReviewsWorks Great by Andy Nowak from on 2010-06-24 I bought these special for using on my new pellet grill. they work great for cookies after the grilling is done.
Alot Of Reasons To Like... by WanderingStar from Wherever I Park It on 2010-06-24 These are perfect for baking in my RV oven for several reasons:1. The small size makes them easier to store than a large stone.- I kept the hefty box the stones were originally packaged in and place a paper towel btw each stone before placing it in the box. The box of stones fits in a drawer.2. The small size makes placing the individual tiles in the oven easier.- the smaller size makes them quite easy to place in the oven and easy to adjust to fit my needs. I sometimes place the stones on the flat surface on the bottom of the oven ( the flat shelf above the broiler) to produce a more even heat in my oven when baking a pie, cake, casserole, etc on the oven rack.- when baking no knead bread I place the stones on the rack then place my Range Kleen Porcelain 8-1/2-Inch-by-13-Inch Broil & Bake Pan on the flat shelf on the bottom of the oven to produce the steam as is required to get the light crispy crust. The Pan Gripper Deep Dish Model makes sliding the broiler pan out and adding the hot water quickly then pushing the broiler pan back in place fast, easy and safe. When baking a small loaf as I often do, I only use 4 of the stones.3. The small size makes them easy to clean.- The small size enables them to be placed in the sink for a good soaking and they fit into my small dish drainer for a thorough drying.Glad I chose this set of smaller versatile stones over a single large stone.
Baking stones create perfectly-baked foccaccia by Judi Demar from Madison, WI USA on 2009-09-20 Without these clay tiles, the underside of my foccaccie were burning. Now, with them, all sides of the foccaccia are perfectly baked. The tiles fit my oven rack, leaving at least one inch all around for heat circulation. Highly recommended.
Great Product! by Food Fanatic from on 2009-08-30 These oven tiles are wonderful for making pizza, bread, stromboli, etc. They provide even, radiant heat in the oven and work great with a pizza peel. I had to purchase two sets to get enough surface area to cover a rack. One small downside is the 6" sq size does not fit a conventional oven rack. I tried cutting them myself but if you don't have a tile saw forget it. I ended up taking them to a local tile dealership and they cut them for me for a small fee.
baking aid by Mr. Donald J. Kaufman Sr. from St. Louis on 2009-04-09 My only problem with the tiles is that they don't exactly fit my oven width. I have to stagger them slightly to make baguettes. That said, they DO give an excellent loaf and I like them. I wonder whether I can cut an inch or two off two tiles so that I can get better coverage?

ReviewsDoes the job for me by View2 from Las Vegas, NV on 2010-07-28 Living in the desert Southwest, I really don't like to use the oven in the summer months. I use the slow-cooker and the toaster oven. To bake a frozen pizza, we break it in half, so we can bake it in the toaster oven. This stone works great for the pizza. So far, that is all I have used it for.
Expected it to have more uses by Lisa Ellen from Phoenix, AZ United States on 2010-02-08 I ordered this stone to use as a multi-use baking stone in my toaster oven. When I received it, I read that it is for pizza ONLY. You cannot put anything with fat content on it because that will cause smoke and taste issues. I guess I was thinking I could use it like any of my large baking stones. I did finally find a small baking stone that I can use for anything. The Pampered Chef small bar pan (stone) works very well, for pizzas and many other things. I have yet to use this Kitchen Supply pizza stone, so I cannot compare the performance of the two different stones when it comes to baking pizzas.
Broken pieces by Anne M. Dean from Jasper,Georgia on 2010-02-06 When this product was delivered to my home, it was in a box with no packing. The stone was broken into a million pieces. Was able to receive a refund with no problem.
Stones are OK - not as good as others I've used by tempoc from Columbia MO on 2010-01-25 I don't know if I've been spoiled by another brand of stone I use or what - but these are not as good - items do burn easily on these stones - something that doesn't happen on my others. But my other brand did not have a size to fit my new toaster oven.
Excellant Quality Baking Stone for my Covection Oven by W. Uncapher from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 2010-01-02 This is a very high quality baking stone! Plus, much to my surprise, it's Made in U.S.A.! Which is a great plus! The baking stone has multiple uses. Great for pizza, cookies, breads and rolls among others. Very easy to clean up. Absolutely nothing sticks to it, not even burnt on pizza cheese and sauce. The stone is very solid and thick, not cheap and flimsy like many others! It's a great addition for my Cuisinart TOB-195 convection oven, which I also purchased from Amazon.com. I'm so pleased with this baking stone I'm going to purchase the set of 2 round stones from Amazon.com. You can't beat the price for a high quality "Made in U.S.A." product like this! Plus you're helping someone to keep their job! Just a note on the shipping (since there are some negatives on this subject), Amazon packaged the stone very well in bubble wrap, the box it came in was very study. The box didn't even have a dent in it! The stone was delivered in "Perfect" codition! Amazon.com is always the best place to shop online. If you do have a problem, their customer service is positively the best of any retailer, online or brick and mortar!

ReviewsWorks much better than wood by Jerry W. Bingham from Fort Smith, USA on 2010-08-18 I tried the wood peels and then saw and ordered this one, it works much better than the wood.
Great Price, Seems Cheap, Don't get it wet by M. Beaumier from Riverside, CA on 2010-05-27 I recently bought a pizza stone, and a pizza peel is completely necessary for removing the pie from the hot stone. This paddle is not sufficient tool for working a stuck pizza off of a stone, the thickness of the wood will just destroy your pizza. I only use this paddle to transfer pizzas to and from a hot oven. The wood is light-weight, which is a plus, when you've got a loaded pizza on the peel, but is also a con because the wood dents, warps, and slivers under any kind of heavier use.DO not attempt to wash this peel with water, as it will cause the peel to warp into a beautiful, and completely useless arch. This pizza peel is a good tool, but only when used properly.
-Do not use it to pry
-Make sure that you liberally coat the peel with corn meal before putting a pizza on it
-Don't get it wet
-Clean it via scraping with something metal, but avoid/be careful around the edges, as it may chip or crack
-Extra care needed if you're trying to move a softer pizza out of the oven, the rough edge of the peel really likes to fold and squish softer breads. This peel can only be useful if you're transferring pizza between corn-mealed surfaces. Its nothing special, but it gets the job done for a good price if you've prepared everything else well.IF you want a professional tool, that can pry pizzas, and will be gentler on your dough, I recommend you go with something more expensive, made from hardwood, that is much thinner, or use a large metal peel. If you like to save money on a one-function-tool such as a pizza peel, then buy this one, and use it for what its made for!
Works great! by P. Frost from California on 2010-03-12 Thinner than wooden peels, the aluminum sheet slides under anything. It doesn't crack or split like cheap softwood, and is not as expensive as a quality hardwood. A little corn meal to keep pies from sticking and you're ready to go. Easy to clean.
Poor quality by sang moon from fairfaxVA USA on 2009-12-05 This pizza peel broke within a week after couple use. This peel is overpriced and very weak.
It is not one piece(3 piece woods with glue).
Prepare to make good pizza! by Draight Kaartokommen from Florida, USA on 2009-12-02 Wooden peels stink...nothing wants to slide off of them. This aluminum peel made all the difference in making good thin crust pizza. Easy to load and easy to transfer an uncooked pie to the pizza stone.Get it now!!

Kitchen Supply Old Stone Oven 13-inch Pizza Stone List Price: $29.99 Sale Price: $28.39 You save: $1.60 (5%) Eligible for free shipping! Availability: Usually ships in 24 hours Average Rating:
DescriptionOver 25 years ago the Old Stone Oven Company first introduced the original baking stone for home use, designed by international pizza expert, Pasquale Bruno. It is still the best on the market. Thicker than other stones available, it has a porosity and heat retention that is unmatched for giving a delicate crispy, restaurant-quality crust to any pizza, focaccia or bread in a standard home oven. Stone is a pure ceramic product made of clays fired at over 2000-degrees Fahrenheit. 13-inch size is perfect for small size or frozen pizza. Complete instructions and recipes are included. Made in the USA. Professional pizza and traditional European bread ovens are often lined with stone or brick. This is so heat is stored up and redistributed evenly. The resulting blast of heat from the Old Stone Oven 13-inch pizza stone gives bread and pizza a nice chewy crust. The rustic French tarts called galettes are also well suited to a baking stone. To use the stone, place it in a cold oven and preheat to 500 degrees for pizza, or according to the recipe for bread or galettes. The stone is made of the same material that lines blast furnaces and kilns, so it can handle ultra-high temperatures. Wait until the baking stone is entirely cooled before attempting to clean it. Let it dry completely before using again. Some discoloration will occur over time; this is natural and will not affect baking. Using baking parchment may help delay that discoloration. Do not bake cookies, turnovers or other high-fat items on the stone; the stone would absorb the fat and proceed to produce smoke and bad odors. The stone comes with a flyer that contains detailed use and cleaning instructions, as well as recipes for bread, pizza dough, and two pizza toppings. --Garland Withers Features- Made of clays fired at over 2000-degrees
- Duplicates crispy pizzeria quality pizza - crust and all - in a standard home kitchen oven
- Similar to stone baking ovens
- 13-inch size is perfect for frozen pizza

ReviewsGreat stone by C. B. Halpern from Minneapolis, MN on 2010-08-24 This is a great pizza stone, thicker than most and I expect this one will last. It was packed extremely well.
Really big by Michael Lieber from Santa Monica, CA USA on 2010-08-04 This is a very large stone and quite hefty. It is the best I have used over the years. I have a 27 inch oven and the largest size just fits.
Nice large and thick porous Pizza stone by Pilchard from Connecticut on 2010-07-26 This is a review of the 16" Old Stone Oven Pizza Stone Round. It arrived well wrapped, and is a great stone, much thicker than another stone I tried. It is about an inch thick and porous. It holds heat well, and helps to really crisp our Pizza. If you are looking for a large, thick Pizza stone, this won't disappoint. We have cooked by pre-heating our oven to 550F, we do not go above that, and pre-heat with the stone in from the start, at no time while the oven is hot do we remove the stone.
Definitely Recommend by ~~Hummingbirder~~ from Pataskala, OH on 2010-06-20 I love this stone. I ordered the 14", and the size is perfect. I use parchment paper over it instead of cornmeal, and so far, it hasn't stained. I rinsed it well when I received it, and it hasn't seen water since. I keep it on the bottom shelf of my oven and move it to the middle when I'm going to use it. It makes no sense to keep moving it around the kitchen because it gets sooo hot, and stays hot for a long time. It's too hot to handle, so I just leave it in the oven and it does not affect any of my other baking.Occasionally, I will have to remove the stone from the oven. Like when I clean the oven. It is not prohibitively heavy, another plus, because when I really do need to move it, I don't need to call a handyman to help :)I get beautiful crusts, and great results overall with my pizzas and breads with this stone. It's an absolutely perfect pairing with my Ironwood Gourmet Acacia Wood Pizza Peel. I'm a happy baker!
Old Stone 13-inch by W. K. Koken from Seattle, WA USA on 2010-06-12 Arrived well packaged, perfect condition. It is heavy, a solid plus.
I bought this smallest diameter because I will be using it to bake bread,
or to warm up breads, at least as frequently as baking pizza.

Exciting by Lionman from Michigan on 2010-06-12 I am so excited to get my bread on with this stone. It's just so thick and hard, I can't wait to get it hot!
Sturdy Pizza Stone by Monica T. from Summit, NJ USA on 2010-06-05 This stone is definitely sturdier than the cheap pizza stones that I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond. I was in search of a solid, long lasting pizza stone after buying a couple of short-lived pizza stones at Bed Bath & Beyond (which cracked after 2-3 uses). I am very happy with this pizza stone and recommend it to others.
Kitchen Supply Pizza Stone by Debbie Mcelwain from on 2010-04-17 Wonderful product!!! It is thicker than any other I have found. I puchased 2 for gifts. Much better than the Pampered Chef stone which broke in half the first time it was used. Still trying to get my refund after more than a month!

ReviewsFOUND! by Cordelia Brown from on 2010-06-10 Many years ago, when I got my first apartment, I picked up a disposable foil pizza pan at the local supermarket. It had large holes and was painted black on the outside, and baked my pizzas so brown and crisp--perfect for those pastey white frozen ones--I never threw it away until there was no choice. I tried to get another one, but they were discontinued. I later purchased a nice steel one in the gourmet section of an upscale department store, but it didn't do the same job; dark-colored metal is the key to browning, and this one was silver. Thanks to Nordicware, though, I finally got my old one back, and even better. Now, it's nonstick and a cinch to clean. What's more, the 12-inch size fits in my large toaster oven. And, it's sturdy and ain't gonna fall apart!!
Excellent Pizza Pan by Susan from Utah on 2009-09-22 This is a great pan, perfect size for our gas grill. Pizzas don't stick and the small holes are great for browning the crust.
