how do i get into the field of commercial refrigeration?

i was recently on a jobsite and had to run a service to 2, 300 amp 3 phase panels for a refrigeration system at a new supermarket. it was impressive seeing the massive compressors, giant refrigerant holding (expansion?) tanks, and complex control systems and miles of tubing required just to run the stores refrigeration network. researching CPC controls greatly intrigued me into perhaps entering the field of an HVACR tech. my question is how does one obtain the experience and knowledge required to install and troubleshoot this kind of system?

Ive been in the field for six years now i had zero experience coming in. Check your area for union mechanical service and apply and keep applying until you get hired on. That's what i did, Once on i started a 5 year apprenticeship. School was free, on the job training. a great deal for me. Here in Cincinnati our union is in with plumbers pipefitters. And im not a big rah rah union guy but for this field it is the best way to go. Good luck
